While in Cascais you have time between affiliate meet-ups to go sightseeing and fill your free moments with memorable impressions of Portugal! To simplify your routine, we’ve decided to offer you the top 5 places we’d love to visit ourselves!

1.      Guincho Beach

A fantastic place where you can admire the waves clashing with the rocks. They say James Bond was filmed against these dramatic sand dunes and the spectacular stretch of coastline. Maybe you will recognize it?

2.      Praia da Rainha

If you prefer calmer waters, come here. Praia da Rainha is a small beach for those who appreciate privacy, silence and peace. If you feel like being alone for a while after the big party, you know where to go!

3.      CascaiShopping

You can’t do without a bit of shopping, can you? Here you can easily spend hours choosing various eye-catching items, enjoying delicious meals at a gorgeous good food court, and sipping a good Starbucks!

4.      Cascais Fish Market

You can’t visit the coast and not taste the local fish! Come to the Cascais Fish Market & you’ll be shocked by the variety of seafood there. It’s an integral part of Portuguese cuisine, by the way. Can you resist it?

5.      Museum Condes de Castro Guimarães

If you are passionate about history, visiting the museum is a great idea. Dive into the atmosphere of the XIX century. Here you’ll find notable national and international paintings, antique furniture, porcelain, jewelry, and other artworks.

As you see, we’ve chosen a variety of venues to suit any taste. If you are up for shopping, exploring history, or discovering new experiences – you’ll find the right option for you on our list. Oh, by the way, here are a few choice cafes where you can grab a snack you will remember for a long time (so exclusive they are!).

Top 5 cafes:

Bijou de Cascais

The perfect place to taste Portuguese pastry. The café offers a plethora of tasty cakes, tarts and cookies. By the way, they say this dessert spot serves the most delicious Pastéis de Nata!

Roots Café Pizzeria

Keen on healthy & delicious food in a comfortable setting? Pay a visit to Roots Café Pizzeria and enjoy a nutritious breakfast cooked with eco-friendly, wholesome products without interfering with your healthy lifestyle.

Panisol Bakery

A quiet, non-touristic spot to have a snack with only a few tables inside. Here you can buy local bread, pastries or sandwiches. Just make sure you have cash when you go there.

Lusophonica

Lusophonica is well worth including in your to-visit list. Come here for the tastiest cup of coffee or home-made smoothie & enjoy it while admiring the fantastic view of the sea.

Quiosque Rocha do Inferno

A nice café to take a breather and perk up with a coffee, cold drink, or even ice cream and a quick snack. Their visitors highlight the cozy relaxing atmosphere helped along by the young, cool staff.

Top 5 Museums

From AdsEmpire with genuine care of our partners. (Now we are no longer worried, as we know you won’t be hungry when you stay in Cascais.)

If you are all into exploring history, make sure you visit at least one of the following museums full of sights and stories:

Casa das Histórias de Paula Rego

This museum presents an impressive collection of works painted by visual artist Paula Rego throughout 50 years. However, not only is the exhibition worth seeing, but the building, designed by Eduardo Souto de Moura, itself is remarkable.

Lamanai xs by Galeria Lamanai

This gallery has a rich collection of various artworks, from paintings and pottery to leather bags and jewelry! You can count on a warm welcome from the amiable owners.

Museum Condes de Castro Guimarães

Back to glorious early 20th century Cascais… Feel the atmosphere walking around the former summer home of the noble family of Count and Countess de Castro Guimaraes.

Santa Marta Lighthouse

A former fort is now a lighthouse that spreads light over the Cascais Bay and the new marina, and a museum – such a unique combination! You can even watch a 15-minute movie about the history of Portugal’s lighthouses based on their keepers’ testimonials there.

Museo do Mar (Museum of the Sea)

Housed in the building of a former sports club, this small but informative museum now displays the marine and fishing heritage of Cascais and encourages further study of the sea and ocean.

Top 5 Beaches

And, of course, the beaches… We couldn’t help mentioning them since we are talking about Portugal after all! Portugal that is famous for being “the end of the world”. The long coastline washed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and stuffed with numerous bars and shops that attract thousands of tourists. We find these beaches the most attractive:

Praia da Conceição

Praia da Conceição opens up a picturesque view of the rocks and waves. And there are many cool bars available, so you can sit at any and enjoy.

Praia da Duquesa

You can easily enjoy the beach at Praia da Conceição since it’s located right nearby. Admire the amazing views!

Praia da Rainha

Interestingly, a few centuries ago you wouldn’t have been allowed to rest here, as it used to be a private Queen’s Beach. Now it welcomes everyone, so, WELCOME!

Praia dos Pescadores

If you’re up for sunbathing, Praia dos Pescadores will serve you nicely. But it’s not that suitable for swimming because of the many boats there.

Praia de Santa Marta

A calm, quiet beach, perfect for swimming, especially in an incoming tide. It’s situated just by the marina, and that means you can easily access the Santa Marta Lighthouse from there, as well as the Museum Condes de Castro Guimarães!

We hope you’ll find something in our recommendations to make your time here memorable. Enjoy your stay in Cascais, dear partner!
